1. Independent study tool; no affiliation
LIRA is an independent, AI-assisted study tool operated by LIRA Study LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. LIRA is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, licensed by, or associated in any way with:
- the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), which produces the MCAT;
- the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), which produces the NCLEX;
- any medical school, nursing school, licensing body, or educational institution;
- any other test-preparation provider, including but not limited to UWorld, LLC, Blueprint Test Prep, LLC, Kaplan, Inc., The Princeton Review, Inc., Ankitects Pty Ltd (maker of Anki), Jack Westin, Khan Academy, MedSchoolCoach, The Princeton Review, and MCAT.tools.
MCAT® is a registered trademark of the AAMC. NCLEX® is a registered trademark of the NCSBN. UWorld®, Kaplan®, Blueprint®, Princeton Review®, Anki®, AnkiConnect, Jack Westin®, and all other product and service names referenced on this site are the property of their respective trademark holders. References on the LIRA Service to these marks are for identification and descriptive purposes only, under the doctrine of nominative fair use, and do not imply sponsorship or endorsement by any trademark holder.
2. Educational use only; no professional advice
LIRA is provided for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on the Service constitutes:
- Medical advice — content discussing biology, chemistry, physiology, pharmacology, or any other medical topic is for test preparation only. It must not be used to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any condition. Consult a licensed healthcare professional for medical concerns.
- Legal advice — any references to law, rights, or regulation are general-information only.
- Mental-health advice or crisis services — if you are in crisis, contact 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or your local emergency number.
- Admissions counseling — LIRA is not a substitute for a premed advisor, admissions consultant, or licensed counselor.
- Financial advice — pricing and fee discussions are informational only, not financial advice.
3. AI-generated content may be wrong
LIRA uses large-language-model providers (currently Anthropic, PBC's Claude API) to generate explanations, practice questions, flashcards, coaching replies, daily tips, predicted scores, and other output (collectively, "AI Output").
AI Output is produced by a machine-learning system and may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, outdated, or fabricated. This is true of every current large language model, including those used by our competitors. Known failure modes include hallucinated citations, incorrect scientific claims, wrong answer keys on generated practice questions, outdated content, and misread figures.
Do not rely on AI Output as the sole basis for any high-stakes decision, including but not limited to: whether to sit the MCAT or another exam, which score to apply to medical school with, how to interpret your progress, whether to make a retake decision, or how to interpret a medical or scientific claim. Verify factual claims against authoritative sources — the AAMC content outline and official AAMC materials, peer-reviewed textbooks, and primary literature — before acting on them.
You can reasonably expect AI Output to err occasionally. Treat it as a knowledgeable study partner that needs to be checked, not an oracle.
4. Predicted scores
Any LIRA-generated score prediction is an estimate based on limited inputs. Real exam scores can differ substantially. A prediction is not a guarantee, target, or recommendation; do not base your application decisions on a predicted score alone. Score predictions are opt-in and carry their own in-product disclaimer.
5. No score guarantee
LIRA does not promise, guarantee, or warrant any particular exam score, score increase, pass rate, admission outcome, or other result.Any third-party claims about LIRA's effect on outcomes are not endorsed by us unless in writing signed by an authorized representative. Your results depend on many factors outside our control — how many questions you log, how you study, how you manage test-day anxiety, and your starting point.
6. Do not cheat
The MCAT, NCLEX, and other standardized exams are administered under strict rules. Use of any outside resource during the exam is prohibited by the test administrators and can result in score cancellation, reporting to schools, and other consequences. LIRA is strictly for out-of-exam study. Using LIRA's output to cheat violates our Terms of Service and your testing-center agreement.
7. No warranty; limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LIRA and its operators, affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors disclaim all liability for any losses, damages, costs, or consequences arising from your use of the Service — including but not limited to exam outcomes, admissions outcomes, missed study time, or decisions made in reliance on AI Output. See our Terms of Service for the full limitation of liability and governing-law provisions.
By using LIRA you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Disclaimer. See also our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
